Drunk Deputy Jailer Suspended After Assaulting Colleague

As of November 5th, 2025, a deputy jailer at Jahazpur jail in Bhilwara, India finds himself in hot water after an alcohol-fueled incident earlier this week. On Tuesday night, Deputy Jailer Omprakash, a resident of Nagaur district, allegedly caused a public disturbance and assaulted a fellow jail guard, Mohan Singh.

The ruckus, which was captured on video and went viral on social media, showcased Omprakash's irresponsible behavior, leading to an immediate response from local authorities. Jahazpur police arrested Omprakash on charges of disturbing public peace, and a medical examination confirmed his intoxication at the time of the incident.

In the aftermath, the Udaipur Jail DIG, Rajendra Kumar, issued an order suspending Omprakash with immediate effect due to pending departmental actions. The suspension comes under Rule 13 of the Rajasthan Civil Services Rules-1958, and during this period, Omprakash will be stationed at Central Jail Kota.
