In Lucknow's Jankipuram area, a 40-year-old auto-rickshaw driver, Ashish Soni, allegedly lost his life after being struck with a frying pan by his wife, Tapasya, during a domestic dispute on Thursday evening. Ashish, who was living separately from Tapasya and their five-year-old daughter, reportedly visited his in-laws' house to see his child.
A heated argument between the couple ensued, during which Tapasya allegedly used a frying pan to assault Ashish, inflicting severe head injuries. He was rushed to Jankipuram Trauma Centre but was pronounced dead.
The deceased's mother stated that the couple had a love marriage in 2013, but disputes began soon after, leading Tapasya to live separately with their daughter. She also claimed her daughter-in-law had been harassing her son and demanding money.
However, Tapasya reportedly told police they were already divorced and that Ashish continued to visit and cause disturbances. The investigation is ongoing, and the woman has been taken into custody.
