Las Vegas Metro police have arrested Joshua Johnson, 31, in connection with a deadly hit-and-run incident that occurred on New Year's Eve. Johnson was taken into custody and is facing charges related to failing to stop at the scene of a crash.
The collision took place on New Year's Eve around 6:15 p.m. on Boulder Highway near Whitney Avenue. Police stated that the pedestrian, whose identity has not yet been released, was struck in a travel lane as they attempted to cross the road outside of a crosswalk.
Johnson made an initial court appearance, where bail was set at $100,000. If he posts bail, he will be subject to electronic monitoring and will be prohibited from operating a motor vehicle. He is scheduled for a follow-up court appearance on January 6.
