2 Jan
Summary
- Drake is accused of promoting an illegal online casino.
- The lawsuit claims proceeds funded artificial music streams.
- Stake.us allegedly operated as an illegal casino bypassing bans.

Rapper Drake has been named in a class action lawsuit filed on December 31st, alleging his involvement in promoting an illegal online casino, Stake.us. The suit claims that Drake, alongside streamer Adin Ross and George Nguyen, used proceeds from the platform to artificially boost the streaming numbers of Drake's music.
The lawsuit contends that Stake.us, marketed as a social casino, was designed to circumvent regulations and operate as an illegal gambling site. It alleges that the virtual currency, Stake Cash, possesses real-dollar value that can be exchanged for cryptocurrency, constituting real gambling despite claims to the contrary.
Beyond the gambling allegations, the suit further accuses the defendants of using funds to create fraudulent music streams, fabricate popularity, and distort recommendation algorithms. Plaintiffs are seeking damages and a jury trial, citing violations of the RICO and Virginia Consumer Protection Act.
