In Gorakhpur, a recent wedding took a grim turn as a 21-year-old woman, identified as Seema, died under suspicious circumstances only two days after her marriage. Seema had married Manoj of Badhni village on February 20. She arrived at her in-laws' home on February 21, but the following evening, her family was informed she was unwell.
Seema was rushed to BRD Medical College, where she unfortunately passed away while receiving treatment. Her family reported that upon reaching the hospital, her in-laws had apparently abandoned the body and fled. Seema's mother has lodged a murder complaint against her husband and his family, citing alleged harassment for dowry as a motive.
Campierganj CO Anurag Singh stated that the official cause of death would be determined following the analysis of the postmortem report. The investigation is ongoing as authorities await further findings to clarify the events leading to Seema's untimely demise.
