- The suspect was captured on camera disconnecting the device.

Law enforcement agencies, including the Pima County Sheriff's Office and the FBI, have obtained critical doorbell camera footage in the ongoing investigation into Nancy Guthrie's disappearance. This crucial evidence was secured through a technicality involving the Nest camera system. The suspect, who appeared masked, was recorded disconnecting the camera from its server.
According to private investigator Andy Kay, the Nest camera's subscription status played a key role. Typically, without a paid subscription, recordings are quickly overwritten on the server. However, when the camera was disconnected, there was nothing to overwrite. The last recorded images captured the suspect disabling the device, thus preserving the earlier footage of their actions.
Further aiding the investigation, the suspect was observed to have their weapon improperly holstered, a detail that led an investigator to label them a "rookie." This observation, coupled with the recovered footage, offers a significant lead in the effort to locate Nancy Guthrie and apprehend those responsible.
