Dollar General Manager Slain Over Hamburger Buns

A tragic incident occurred at a Columbus, Georgia Dollar General store when manager Alexis Hill, 44, was fatally shot. The fatal encounter reportedly began over a dispute concerning the purchase of hamburger buns, which cost $1.58. Eyewitness accounts suggest the customer shot Hill after she accepted his payment of two crumpled dollar bills.

The suspect fled the scene following the shooting. Subsequently, the individual engaged in a separate shooting incident with Columbus police officers. This later confrontation resulted in injuries to one officer and a police K9. While the officer's injuries are not considered life-threatening, the condition of the K9 remains unconfirmed. The suspect also died during this second encounter with law enforcement. His identity has not yet been released by authorities. The investigation into the events is ongoing.
