A swift resolution to an illegal nilgai poaching case in Chhattisgarh's Keregaon reserve forest was achieved on March 22. Forest officials discovered the carcass of a three to four-year-old male nilgai, exhibiting three arrow injuries. The discovery prompted the deployment of a specialized dog squad from the Udanti Sitanadi Tiger Reserve.
Utilizing an arrow found at the scene, the canine expertly tracked the scent, leading investigators directly to the residence of a suspect in Dokal village. This crucial breakthrough enabled the identification of Mannu as the primary accused, paving the way for the apprehension of his six accomplices.
