In April 2025, Caz Goddard was hospitalized in Bristol after an attempted suicide. During her hospital stay, a doctor identified her relationship as abusive and warned her of potential harm.
The doctor cautioned Goddard that she was in a coercive relationship and might face severe harm, stating, "He told me you will get really hurt... next time was when the violence started." Her ex-partner, James Stock, remained by her side in the hospital.
Upon returning home and gathering the courage to ask Stock to leave, Goddard was subjected to a violent attack that nearly cost her life. James Stock has since been sentenced to 20 years in prison for attempted murder.
