Doctors Stripped of Licenses for Exam Cheating Scheme
15 Oct
Summary
- Two doctors facilitated cheating on UK medical registration exams.
- They provided confidential exam information to students.
- Both doctors were removed from the medical register recently.

Two physicians, Dr. Elmira Yaghmaei and Dr. Hamed Salehi, have been permanently removed from the UK medical register. This disciplinary action, effective September 30, followed findings that they facilitated cheating on the PLAB test, a crucial assessment for International Medical Graduates seeking GMC registration. The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service investigated concerns raised after a folder containing confidential exam details was found at an assessment center on February 15, 2019.
Operating through Common Stations Limited, where Salehi was a director and Yaghmaei a tutor, the pair allegedly used leaked information to create teaching materials. Former students' testimonials indicated they were "spoon-fed" exam content, knowing exact wording and answers beforehand. The GMC stated this provided an "unfair advantage" and compromised the exam's integrity, posing a risk to patient safety if doctors are not genuinely assessed.
