Doctor's husband accused of murdering mistress

Dr. Lissette Pola's life unraveled after her nurse husband, Rene Perez, became entangled in a murder investigation. Perez, 38, is accused of murdering his mistress, Linda Campitelli, a fellow nurse, in October 2024. Their apparent marital bliss, marked by a $940,000 home purchase and the birth of their son, soured following the infidelity. Pola filed for divorce in March last year, citing irreconcilable differences, and their divorce was finalized in April 2025.

Perez allegedly beat Campitelli to death in an SUV, reportedly outfitted as a love nest with hospital bed sheets. Her body was found on the side of a road in Palm Beach County, Florida, with the cause of death being blunt force trauma. Despite admitting to the affair, Perez denied involvement, though surveillance and cell phone data placed him at the scene. He was arrested on March 10, 2026, and charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence, with bail denied.
