Doctor struck off for public danger
27 Oct
Summary
- Doctor Mozny failed six patients in March 2020.
- He prescribed chemotherapy without correspondence.
- He has been removed from the Medical Register.
A doctor found to be a danger to the public can no longer practice medicine. Dr. Jan Mozny was suspended in April 2023 for failing six patients in March 2020 while working as a locum consultant. He is now erased from the Medical Register.
A tribunal ruled Mozny prescribed chemotherapy without correspondence and prescribed the wrong treatment for another patient. For this misconduct, he faced repeated suspensions since March 2020.
Mozny, who qualified in 1976, failed to provide evidence of insight or updated skills. He stated his intention to voluntarily erase his name from the register.
The hearing on Friday found no progress in remediation or engagement with the GMC. Erasure was deemed necessary for public protection and maintaining confidence in medicine.
