A shocking incident occurred in Nagpur where a young doctor, Dr. Kaustubh Kale, was robbed of his gold chain shortly after suffering an accident. The event unfolded on March 8, between 4:00 AM and 4:30 AM, near Lotus Chowk. As the doctor lay injured on the road, two individuals on a motorcycle snatched his 20-gram gold chain before fleeing.
Following the doctor's complaint, the Ganeshpeth police initiated a thorough investigation. A dedicated team, led by Police Sub-Inspector Vijendra Nachan, meticulously reviewed footage from over 100 CCTV cameras in the vicinity. This intensive effort, combined with technical analysis and informant networks, led to the identification of the prime suspect, Rajesh alias Babya Uike, and his minor associate.
Within three days of the incident, on March 11, the police successfully apprehended the duo. The recovered items included the stolen gold chain, valued at Rs2,40,000, two mobile phones, and the motorcycle used in the crime. The total value of the recovered property amounted to Rs3 lakh. Authorities are further investigating if the accused were involved in other recent chain-snatching incidents in Nagpur.
