- The suspect was killed in a police encounter shortly after the attack.

On Saturday, a female doctor at Quetta's Civil Hospital suffered severe injuries after a hospital employee allegedly threw acid on her. Dr. Mahnoor Nasir sustained critical burns to her face, chest, and other body parts, with hospital sources indicating around 70% of her body was affected. She received initial treatment at Civil Hospital before being transferred to a private facility and later airlifted to Karachi.
The suspect, identified as a hospital employee from Duki district, reportedly attacked Dr. Nasir while she was on duty. He escaped the premises but was later killed in an encounter with police who tracked him down as he attempted to flee by bus. Police stated the suspect opened fire when asked to surrender, leading to the exchange of gunfire.
The Young Doctors Association (YDA) attributed the attack to "inadequate security arrangements" and "administrative negligence." In response, doctors and paramedical staff protested, suspending routine medical services while keeping emergency facilities operational. They demanded the removal of health officials and hospital security personnel, with plans for further demonstrations if their demands are not met.
