In Burdwan, a 26-year-old man is accused of fatally attacking a rural medical practitioner inside his chamber on Tuesday afternoon. The victim, 42-year-old Raja Bhowmick, practiced in Badamtala.
The accused, identified as Jiban Ruidas from Amra village, reportedly harbored a deep-seated belief that Dr. Bhowmick's medical treatment was responsible for his grandmother's passing. This perceived injustice fueled his actions.
Around 1 PM, Ruidas allegedly entered the doctor's chamber armed with a sharp weapon and carried out the attack, resulting in Dr. Bhowmick's death at the scene. Following the incident, Ruidas proceeded directly to the Burdwan police station, where he surrendered with the weapon used in the crime.
