Mystery Surrounds Doctor's Death in Assam Hospital

A doctor, identified as Dr. Prayash Singhal, was found deceased inside an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) chamber at a private super-speciality hospital in Guwahati. Hospital staff discovered him unresponsive around 4 am on Wednesday. Dr. Singhal had been employed at the hospital for approximately six years and was stationed in the Neurology ICU.
According to hospital management, Dr. Singhal arrived on Tuesday evening and later reported symptoms of abdominal pain and vomiting. He was administered medication and an injection for his discomfort. He subsequently went to the doctors' room.
Hospital authorities confirmed that the police were immediately notified after the discovery. The body has been transferred to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination, which, along with a forensic examination, is expected to reveal the cause of death. Hospital leadership stated it is premature to speculate on the circumstances, whether it be suicide or another cause, and that all aspects, including personal issues, will be considered during the ongoing investigation.
Multiple doctors from various departments were on duty overnight, but none reported witnessing the doctor's death. The investigation aims to ascertain the precise cause of the doctor's demise.
