Doctor Arrested After 6 Months on the Run in Pharmacy Scam

A doctor, Prasad Yadavrao Sali, was apprehended on Monday by Khadakpada police, ending a six-month evasion following accusations of a significant fraud. He is alleged to have duped several individuals of nearly Rs 70 lakh by promising returns from a pharmacy business. His wife, Vaishali Prasad Sali, also implicated in the scheme, remains at large.
Victims Pragya Kamble and Dr. Rahul Dubey filed a complaint on September 13 last year, reporting that they had been defrauded. Investigations revealed multiple other victims of the same alleged scam. The couple had been absconding since their anticipatory bail was denied.
Officials stated that while the main accused has been arrested after sustained efforts, a special team is actively working to locate and apprehend his wife. The police are continuing their investigation to determine the full extent of the fraud and identify any further victims.
