Govt Doctor, Wife Accused in Rs 16 Lakh Extortion Plot

A government doctor, Krishna Kumar Jaildar, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly orchestrating an extortion scheme with his wife. The 42-year-old, reportedly posing as a deputy director in the health department, is accused of demanding up to Rs 16 lakh from a city-based property dealer. Jaildar allegedly conspired to file false rape cases to avoid repaying borrowed money and to extort additional funds.

The property dealer had loaned Jaildar Rs 5-6 lakh in 2023, with the doctor citing various pretexts and claiming his bank account was seized. When pressed for repayment, Jaildar allegedly threatened to involve the dealer in fabricated rape complaints. The plot escalated on August 12, 2023, when a woman threatened the dealer; a rape complaint was subsequently emailed to the police, though the woman did not appear when summoned.

The matter resurfaced on October 24, 2025, with a fresh complaint filed by the woman and Jaildar. The doctor then demanded Rs 7 lakh, later increasing the amount to Rs 16 lakh, and insisted on cash payments. Police arrested Jaildar in Panchkula based on the property dealer's complaint.
