A fatal shooting outside Bistro Paradise has led to the arrest of Rijkaard Florvil, 33, for the murder of DJ Kendy Alexandre, 29. The incident occurred early Sunday morning around 3:30 am as patrons were leaving the establishment. Alexandre was shot in the head.
Video surveillance reportedly shows Florvil confronting Alexandre with a gun prior to the shooting. Florvil had initially claimed he fired shots into the air during a large fight. He is currently held without bond, awaiting a hearing on March 5th.
Alexandre is remembered by his friend, Will Gaines, as a loving father to a toddler and a devoted friend. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about after-hours establishments, with authorities having closed 17 such bars since 2024.
Florvil's upcoming hearing will include a judge's order for him to stay away from witnesses if released. The judge has ordered Florvil to remain in jail without bond.
