On October 23, 2025, a devastating incident occurred in Semri village, Mirzapur district, India. A 35-year-old woman, Sangeeta Devi, allegedly killed her two sons, Shivansh (4) and Shubhankar (18 months), before taking her own life.
According to the police, Sangeeta stuffed cloth in the mouths of her children and then hanged herself from the ceiling of her house. Preliminary investigations revealed that Sangeeta had been mentally disturbed for several months due to superstitious thoughts and beliefs. Her family had even sought the help of a necromancer for her treatment.
On the day of the incident, Sangeeta's husband, Harishchandra Bind, left for work, leaving his wife and children at home. When he returned in the evening, he found the door locked from the inside. After breaking it open, he discovered Sangeeta hanging and the bodies of his children lying on the floor. Shocked and devastated, Harishchandra immediately alerted the neighbors and the police.
The authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the matter, exploring all possible factors that may have led to this tragic outcome. The bodies have been sent for postmortem, and the police are determined to uncover the truth behind this heartbreaking incident.
