Actor Dino Morea presented himself before the Mumbai Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on Friday, October 2nd, 2026, for questioning regarding the Mithi River desilting scam. This investigation involves allegations of significant financial loss to the civic body.
The scam, valued at Rs 65.5 crore, allegedly occurred due to contractors, middlemen, and BMC officials not desilting the Mithi River. Further details suggest the submission and clearance of fake bills contributed to the alleged loss.
Authorities are examining a possible connection between two companies, UBO Ridez and Vodar India LLP. These entities share a registered address in Worli, and a director of one is linked to the other. Last year, Dino and his brother Santino Morea also underwent questioning, and provided bank records for personal accounts and UBO Ridez.
A special investigation team (SIT) was formed on March 20, 2024, to thoroughly probe these allegations. The EOW is seeking to understand the full extent of the financial irregularities and the involvement of various parties.
