Three individuals have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody following a mob assault on two men in Dhanbad. The incident occurred on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, under the Rajganj police station area.
The victims, Dablu Mahto and Deepak Mahto, were visiting a relative when locals began suspecting them of being child-lifters. This unfounded rumor rapidly spread, inciting a large crowd to surround and attack the men.
Rajganj police arrived at the scene, dispersed the agitated crowd, and rescued the injured victims, who were then admitted to a local hospital. An FIR was registered based on the victims' complaint, initiating a police investigation.
During the probe, Vinay Mishti, Akash Turi, and Sonu Turi were identified as key participants in the assault and subsequently arrested.
