Man faces 3 murder charges in wife's death
4 Jun
Summary
- Derrick Green indicted on three aggravated murder counts.
- Victims Shalimar Green and Aliv'eyah Chandler found deceased.
- Prosecutors chose not to pursue the death penalty.

Derrick Green, 35, faces a revised indictment including three counts of aggravated murder, two counts of gross abuse of a corpse, and one count of tampering with evidence. These charges are in connection with the May 27 deaths of his estranged wife, Shalimar Green, 33, and her 11-year-old daughter, Aliv'eyah Chandler.
A grand jury in Franklin County issued the indictment on June 4. Police had discovered Shalimar Green and Aliv'eyah Chandler deceased in their home on Chatsworth Way on the evening of May 27. Both victims appeared to have sustained gunshot and stab wounds.
Prosecutors allege that Shalimar Green was in the process of divorcing Derrick Green. Evidence, including ballistics, a knife, and bloody clothing, was reportedly found at the scene. Green's vehicle was present at the home, and ammunition matching evidence found inside was recovered.
Despite the allegations being eligible for the death penalty under Ohio law, Franklin County Prosecutor Shayla Favor has stated she will not pursue capital punishment. Derrick Green is scheduled for an arraignment on June 8, where he is expected to plead not guilty. If convicted, Green could face life in prison without parole.
