The vehicle was reportedly moving on the wrong side of the road. As officers tried to halt the SUV, it accelerated, striking Head Constable Rahul near the Sarai Julena red light.
Rahul sustained injuries and was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Two other officers, Head Constable Saad Babu Khan and Assistant Sub-Inspector Aslam Khan, narrowly avoided being hit.
The SUV driver fled the scene following the incident. Police have registered a case and are examining CCTV footage from surrounding areas to identify and locate the vehicle and its driver.
