Summary

- The mother is suspected of killing her two daughters and attempting suicide.
- The family was reportedly not social and may have dealt with depression.

A disturbing incident unfolded in Malviya Nagar, Delhi, where two sisters were found deceased and their mother found unconscious in their flat. Authorities suspect the 50-year-old mother, Sunita, committed the alleged homicides before attempting suicide. Evidence at the scene included crushed naphthalene balls and a crepe bandage.
Investigators believe Sunita may have used the bandage to strangle her younger daughter, Gunisha, a law graduate. The elder daughter, Radhika, who assisted a teacher for special-needs children, reportedly died from smothering, with signs of a struggle. Cut marks were also found on one of the daughters' hands.
The family, residents of the area for five decades, was described by neighbors as well-behaved but private, potentially grappling with depression. Police are exploring all angles, including domestic discord. The husband, who runs a garment shop, was not present at the time of the discovery. Post-mortem and medical reports are awaited.
