In South Delhi's Aya Nagar, a software engineer was apprehended on February 20 following a fatal confrontation stemming from a parking dispute. The incident involved a disagreement over a car obstructing a mini-truck carrying DJ equipment. An argument over right-of-way escalated when the car driver allegedly produced a knife and attacked the occupants of the truck.
One of the victims, Sandeep Lohia, 38, was pronounced dead at a Gurgaon hospital. His companion, Rishi, sustained stab wounds and is reportedly in stable condition. The arrested individual, Ravi, 32, a resident of Sonipat and an engineer by profession, was taken into custody. He stated that he resorted to the knife after being slapped. Police are investigating this claim and testing his blood alcohol level.
The accused, who was reportedly in Aya Nagar for a wedding, was found to be in possession of the alleged weapon. Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita concerning murder and attempted murder. The investigation is ongoing, with police verifying the accused's account and potential alcohol influence during the incident.
