Delhi Police apprehended a 33-year-old individual with a criminal record, identified as Tausif, for a phone snatching incident targeting a US tourist. The crime occurred late on January 15th near Omaxe Mall in Chandni Chowk. The victim, Jing Teng, a 37-year-old US national, was shopping when her phone was taken by a snatcher on a scooty.
Following Tausif's arrest on January 19th in the GB Road area, police recovered the stolen phone and the scooty used in the crime. Authorities stated Tausif was apprehended as he was preparing to commit another offense. He further admitted to his involvement in a separate mobile snatching incident near Old Delhi Railway Station earlier this month, leading to the resolution of a second case.
The accused, Tausif, is a resident of Ajmeri Gate and has previous offenses registered at the Kamla Market police station. His arrest was the result of multiple raids conducted at his suspected hideouts. The successful apprehension and recovery of stolen property highlight the efficiency of the Delhi Police in solving such cases.
