A 31-year-old Delhi man, Yuvraj Singh Manchanda, who went missing after a meeting in Gurugram, was allegedly murdered, his body later found in a drain. Police have arrested his former colleague, Anya Vats, and her partner, Sanyam Sachdeva. Investigators stated the accused allegedly drove with the deceased's body for approximately seven hours while searching for a place to dump it.
Manchanda, an HR professional from Sarita Vihar, was last seen on September 6. He informed his family he had a meeting in Gurugram with Vats and expected to return by 10 pm. When he failed to return and his phone was switched off, his family filed a missing person report.
Technical investigation, including CDR and IPDR analysis, pointed to Vats as Manchanda's last contact. A new mobile number used by Vats led police to Uttarakhand, where she and Sachdeva were apprehended. They are married and have a one-year-old son.
Vats reportedly confessed to inviting Manchanda to Gurugram, an argument ensuing in his car, after which she allegedly shot him. Her partner allegedly assisted in disposing of the body. The Badshahpur police had recovered an unidentified body from a drain on September 10, which Manchanda's family later identified.
Both Vats and Sachdeva have been remanded to five days of police custody. Authorities are working to establish the complete sequence of events and the motive behind the alleged murder.
