In a significant crackdown, a joint task force has busted an illegal distribution hub in Delhi's Najafgarh area. The operation, targeting M/s Gaurav Vats Nutrition, was prompted by an alert from the National Anti-Doping Agency. Authorities seized a substantial quantity of banned substances, including approximately 2,800 capsules and tablets of anabolic steroids, alongside 11 injectable units. Among the seized items were Methenolone Enanthate, Trenbolone, Stanozolol, Methandienone, and Oxandrolone, highlighting a serious breach of regulations.
The unit was found to be operating without essential licenses required under both the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and the Food Safety and Standards Act. Beyond performance-enhancing drugs, officials also uncovered violations related to expired health supplements. Around 45 kg of expired gainers and whey protein were confiscated, with an additional 85 kg of protein and creatine products placed under scrutiny for safety checks. Regulatory samples have been collected, and separate proceedings have been initiated under food safety laws to address these violations.
