In a shocking incident early Tuesday morning, a 28-year-old woman and her three companions allegedly created a major disturbance in the casualty ward of a north Delhi government hospital. The group, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, arrived with the injured woman and immediately clashed with staff when medico-legal procedures began.
Accounts from hospital authorities detail aggressive behavior, including verbal abuse directed at doctors and nurses, and physical assault against security guards. During the altercation, the intoxicated individuals are accused of vandalizing hospital property, causing damage to essential equipment such as a computer system, printer, and WiFi devices.
The commotion necessitated a police PCR call, with officers arriving to restore order. The disruption temporarily halted emergency services in the casualty area due to the damaged equipment. Authorities are pursuing legal action against the patient and her unidentified attendants under the Delhi Medicare Service Personnel and Medicare Service Institutions Act, 2008, which protects healthcare workers.
