Summary

- Police seized 113 kg of raw materials for heroin and MDMA.
- The operation uncovered a sophisticated chemical lab producing high-end drugs.

In a significant bust on January 20, 2026, Delhi police apprehended Emmanuel, a 36-year-old Nigerian national, who allegedly ran a sophisticated "chemical kitchen" in the Devli area of south Delhi. This operation dismantled a clandestine factory for manufacturing high-end psychotropic substances, including MDMA and heroin.
The raid yielded a substantial haul of 113 kg of raw materials. This included 16 kg of crystalline material, 16 kg of grey grain-like substances, 51 kg of liquids, and 30 unlabelled glass bottles, all intended for drug synthesis. The processed heroin found with the accused was valued at over a crore.
Investigators revealed that the accused was not merely a distributor but a "cook" or supplier, suggesting deeper links to a larger Nigerian gang. The ability to locally produce high-quality heroin and MDMA marks a concerning shift from traditional smuggling activities. Emmanuel had been residing in India illegally and is now facing charges under the NDPS Act.
As of January 24, 2026, the sheer volume of the seizure indicates potential ties to an international cartel. Special CP Madhup Tiwari has initiated a dedicated team to trace absconding gang members and dismantle the entire supply chain.
