A sophisticated gang operating in Delhi's Kalkaji area, which preyed on individuals through dating applications, has been dismantled by the Delhi Police. The gang specifically targeted victims by using dating apps to arrange meetings, subsequently robbing them of significant amounts of money.
In a recent incident, a man was lured by a woman with a profile on a dating app to meet in Nehru Place. Upon arrival, he was attacked by three men, forced into a car, and threatened. Under duress, he was compelled to transfer approximately Rs 7 lakh using various digital payment methods before being released with threats.
The swift action by the Delhi Police, following a case registered under the BNS, led to the arrest of five individuals, including a woman named Harleen Kaur, alias 'Jenny'. Recoveries include two cars used in the commission of the crime and five mobile phones. Investigations are continuing to trace the full extent of the looted money and financial transactions.
