In outer Delhi's Shahbad Dairy, two police personnel demonstrated remarkable bravery on Saturday when they were stabbed while chasing a history-sheeter. Head constable Kuldeep and constable Neeraj were on patrol when they received information about Ravi alias Panchi, who was planning a robbery. Upon spotting the police, Ravi attempted to flee, leading to a pursuit. He then allegedly attacked the officers with a sharp weapon during the arrest attempt. Kuldeep sustained two stab wounds, while Neeraj received three, with two blows partially blocked by his belt. Undeterred, the injured officers managed to overpower Ravi, seizing a country-made pistol and a knife from his possession. Both officers were subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment. Ravi, described as a 'bad character' of the area, has at least 12 prior cases registered against him for offenses including robbery, snatching, house-breaking, and arms violations across Shahbad Dairy and Samaypur Badli police stations. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act. Senior officers have praised the officers' actions, noting their intervention prevented a serious offense, and recommendations for awards are being processed.
