In a significant development, the Gurgaon police have arrested two men, including a member of the notorious Deepak Nandal gang, for their alleged involvement in supplying the weapons used in the shooting attack on Haryanvi singer Rahul Yadav, also known as Fazilpuria, earlier this year.
The arrests were made by the Gurgaon crime branch team from Sector 31, led by Inspector Anand Kumar. The two suspects, Pradeep Sherawat and Gagandeep alias Jaj, were apprehended on October 30 and November 3, respectively, taking the total number of arrests in the case to 10.
According to the police, Gagandeep, a resident of Baba Ramlal Nagar in Punjab's Firozpur, has a staggering 27 criminal cases against him in Punjab, including charges of assault, murder, attempt to murder, criminal intimidation, and offenses under the NDPS and Arms Acts. In contrast, Pradeep, a resident of Sector 5's Dayanand Colony in Gurgaon, has one previous case of assault registered against him.
During interrogation, Gagandeep revealed that on the directions of his associate and fugitive gangster Deepak Nandal, he procured illegal weapons from Kherki Daula and handed them over to Pradeep. Pradeep then supplied these weapons to co-accused Shakti Singh, who used them in the firing incident targeting Fazilpuria on July 14, 2025.
The firing incident occurred when Fazilpuria was travelling in his Thar near SPR. The occupants of a white Tata Punch car opened fire at him, but the bullet hit an iron pole nearby. Fazilpuria escaped unhurt and later filed a complaint at the Badshahpur police station.
The Gurgaon police have recovered the vehicle and weapons used in the crime, and the investigation is ongoing to uncover the full extent of the criminal network involved in this case.
