On October 12th, 2025, the body of a 23-year-old man was discovered in the Wasgaon forest area of Roha taluka, Navi Mumbai. The victim, identified as Krishna Khandavi, had been reported missing by his wife Deepali Nirgude on October 10th.
The police investigation uncovered a shocking twist - Deepali Nirgude, the victim's wife, was the mastermind behind the murder. In collusion with her paramour, Umesh Sadumahakal, and their common friend Supriya Chaudhary, Deepali had plotted to kill her husband. The trio, all from Nashik, had been planning this crime for some time.
Deepali and Umesh were in an illicit relationship and wanted to get married, but Krishna Khandavi was an obstacle to their plans. Using a fake social media identity, Supriya lured Khandavi to a meeting at the Nagothane bus depot on October 10th. There, Umesh and Supriya took Khandavi to the Wasgaon forest, where Umesh strangled him with a scarf and banged his head on the ground until he was motionless. To ensure he was dead, Umesh used Khandavi's shoelace to strangle him again.
The three accused have been arrested by the Nagothane police. This tragic case highlights the lengths some will go to in order to eliminate perceived obstacles to their personal desires.
