A violent drug dealer has admitted to killing a vulnerable former chef in a north London flat. Bamidele Fawehinmi, 33, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and causing grievous bodily harm. The victim, 55-year-old Dimitrios Tsavdaris, was discovered in a foetal position in a "cuckoo" flat in Hackney.
Tsavdaris had suffered weeks of sustained violent attacks, both in Hackney and at Fawehinmi's home in Wickford, Essex. He was described as a frail man who had sustained multiple fractures and internal injuries. The investigation leader called Fawehinmi a "violent bully" who preyed on vulnerable individuals.
Fawehinmi used Tsavdaris's Hackney flat as a base for drug dealing, a practice known as cuckooing. The defendant was previously acquitted of murder but faced other charges. He has a history of convictions, including for criminal damage and common assault, and admitted selling crack cocaine. Sentencing is set for May 8.
