Wade Wilson, also known as the 'Deadpool Killer,' is back in the spotlight with Netflix's 'Worst Ex Ever Season 2.' The documentary revisits the horrific crimes he committed in October 2019, which shocked Florida.
Wilson first met his 35-year-old victim, Kristine Melton, at a Cape Coral bar. He used his "charm and good looks" to convince her to take him home, where he later strangled her to death while she slept. He then moved on to his next victim.
His second victim was 43-year-old bartender Diane Ruiz, whom he encountered while she was walking to work. After luring her into Kristine Melton's stolen car under the pretense of needing directions, he attacked and killed her. Wilson callously bragged about running her over repeatedly until her body was unrecognizable.
Wilson was arrested on October 8, 2019. During his 2024 trial, he attempted to conceal his facial tattoos. Despite his efforts, the jury convicted him of the first-degree murders of Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz. In August 2024, he was sentenced to death row and is currently held at the Union Correctional Institution as his legal team appeals the sentence.
