A fatal hit-and-run in West Park has led to the arrest of Karen Essick, 66, of Miramar. The incident occurred Monday morning near Barry Road and West Hallandale Beach Boulevard. The victim, Mishell Warner, 61, was struck while walking to a bus stop on her way to Memorial Regional Hospital, where she had worked for 35 years. Investigators identified Essick as the suspect after reviewing surveillance footage that showed her vehicle stopping briefly before leaving the scene.
