On the night of November 14, 2025, a tragic incident unfolded in Sector 71 park of Mohali, where a heated argument between two friends during a drinking session led to a brutal murder. According to the police, the victim, Raju, a 25-year-old labourer from Uttar Pradesh, was residing in a rented accommodation in Mataur. The accused, Arjun, also a resident of the same area, allegedly bludgeoned Raju to death with stones and then fled the scene.
Raju's father-in-law, Shri Ram, informed the police that his daughter, Raj Kumari, was married to the victim. On Friday night, Raju had gone to the park in Sector 71, and the next morning, his body was discovered with deep injury marks on his head, face, and other body parts. The Mataur police station in-charge, Amandeep Kamboj, reached the spot and took the victim to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
Investigations revealed that the incident was the result of a brutal attack following a drunken brawl between the two friends. The police have arrested Arjun, and he is expected to be produced in court on Sunday.
