Last month, two cousins in New York City were involved in a deadly dispute that ended in an apparent murder-suicide. According to authorities and relatives, the tragic incident was related to a disagreement over the sale of the men's family home.
The New York City Police Department (NYPD) responded to a call about a shooting in the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens on the night of October 3rd. Upon arrival, they found the two men, aged 37 and 41, with gunshot wounds to the head. The 37-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 41-year-old was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
Relatives and police sources revealed that the two men were cousins who were in a dispute over the sale of their family's two-bedroom home, which had been on the market for about a month with an asking price of $600,000. The older cousin was in charge of the sale, and had given his younger cousin power of attorney to assist with the process due to his real estate background. However, the two began arguing over how the proceeds from the sale would be divided.

"It was an issue with the sale of the house, some disagreement with how the money was going to be divided up," the uncle of the two men told the New York Post. The older cousin, who was the shooter, is believed to have been inside the home with his younger cousin's body for several hours before turning the gun on himself.
