The Malwani police have registered a case against the director of a private de-addiction center, his wife, and two other individuals. This action follows an alleged rape of an underage girl within the institution in early 2024. One of the accused has been apprehended. Authorities suspect there may be another victim and are actively seeking to identify and locate her.
The complainant, approximately 15 years old at the time of the incident, was admitted to the de-addiction center by her family in January 2024. She reported that the director subjected her to sexual assaults on multiple occasions during her stay. Furthermore, she alleged that two male staff members engaged in molesting girls at the center.
According to the complaint, the victim's attempts to report the abuse to the director's wife, who co-managed the center, were met with inaction. The victim stated that the repeated assaults led to a pregnancy, and she was subsequently forced to undergo an abortion using medication provided by the accused. After enduring significant physical and psychological trauma during her months-long stay, the victim eventually disclosed the ordeal to her parents, prompting them to file a police report recently.
