Erin Sauls, a 23-year-old former home daycare owner in Little Rock, Arkansas, has been charged with capital murder. Police indicated that the boy's fatal injuries, including skull fractures and brain bleeds, corroborated her alleged confession. Sauls pleaded not guilty to the capital murder charge during her initial court appearance on December 31, 2025.
A subsequent hearing was held on Monday, with a bond hearing scheduled for June 5. Elijah's grieving family attended the proceedings, with his aunt expressing their deep desire for justice and appropriate punishment for Sauls.
