Daycare Owner Accused of Battering Baby to Death
11 Mar
Summary
- Daycare owner faces capital murder charge for infant's death.
- She allegedly confessed to repeatedly hitting the baby's head.
- The victim's family is seeking justice and fair punishment.

Erin Sauls, a 23-year-old former home daycare owner in Little Rock, Arkansas, has been charged with capital murder. The accusation stems from the death of eight-month-old Elijah Flowerday, who was discovered unresponsive at Sauls's residence on December 30, 2025. Efforts to revive the infant via CPR were unsuccessful, and Elijah was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Authorities report that Sauls confessed to the crime, stating she was overwhelmed by frustration and a headache, leading her to repeatedly bash the baby's head against the floor. Police indicated that the boy's fatal injuries, including skull fractures and brain bleeds, corroborated her alleged confession. Sauls pleaded not guilty to the capital murder charge during her initial court appearance on December 31, 2025.
A subsequent hearing was held on Monday, with a bond hearing scheduled for June 5. Elijah's grieving family attended the proceedings, with his aunt expressing their deep desire for justice and appropriate punishment for Sauls. A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support Elijah's family, raising nearly $18,000 of its $20,000 goal.
