A horrific assault on a disabled father by his own daughter has concluded with a court sentencing. The 37-year-old woman, Helena Coyne, received a community order after admitting to causing actual bodily harm to her father.
The attack, which occurred on August 15, involved the daughter removing her father's prosthetic leg before biting his face and kicking his dog. The father, a double amputee, had previously lost several fingers due to sepsis.
During the sentencing, the judge described the assault as "mean, brutal and humiliating." Coyne's father lives in a specially adapted ground-floor flat and had family visiting on the day of the incident. While guests were present, her demeanor reportedly changed towards her father after others left.
