Dating App Scam: Four Arrested for Rs 2.15 Lakh Extortion

Four individuals have been apprehended in Delhi's Najafgarh area for extorting Rs 2.15 lakh from a 44-year-old man. The accused allegedly lured the victim, a resident of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, through a dating application.
Upon meeting, the man was taken to a house in Najafgarh where he was threatened. He was coerced into transferring a total of Rs 2.15 lakh through various UPI and bank transactions, as well as cash.
Police registered a case on September 14 and subsequently arrested Mandeep, Preeti, Kamlesh, and Ritu. Rs 70,500 was recovered during the arrests. Efforts are underway to trace and recover the remaining amount, with some bank accounts already frozen.
Further investigation aims to uncover any past involvement of the accused and identify other potential victims or associates.
