In a swift operation, police apprehended Akash Kashyap, the main accused in the shooting of his girlfriend, a dancer, on Sunday. The incident took place in the Sadarouna area under Para police station limits. His maternal cousin, Shivam Kashyap, who was present at the scene, was also arrested.
Investigators recovered the illegal pistol used in the crime, along with three live cartridges, an empty shell, and the SUV that the accused had used to reach the victim's residence. During interrogation, Akash admitted to the shooting and revealed his escape route with Shivam, which included traveling to Ayodhya and then Ballia to evade law enforcement.
The relationship between Akash and the victim had lasted for approximately a year and a half. Reports indicate that Akash was deeply dissatisfied with her career as a stage dancer and had repeatedly urged her to stop performing. The shooting occurred on Thursday night while Akash was intoxicated, critically injuring the dancer.
