Dallas Patrol Uncovers Drugs, Warrants

Three individuals were arrested on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, during a routine foot patrol in downtown Dallas. Officers were conducting the patrol around 9:15 a.m. in the 900 block of Pacific Avenue to enhance visibility and community engagement.
The first arrest occurred when officers stopped Coby Vandergriff, 23, for a traffic violation. A background check revealed multiple warrants, including a first-degree felony forgery warrant from Texarkana and warrants from Navarro County. A search incident to his arrest also uncovered marijuana, leading to an additional drug possession charge.
Continuing their patrol, officers encountered Kirk Rhoads, 30, and Ja Tavia Thompson, 23, loitering behind a business. Rhoads admitted to possessing marijuana, which officers found in small bags. Thompson was found to have two outstanding first-degree felony forgery warrants from Texarkana. All three face charges related to their warrants and drug possession.
