The special investigation team (SIT) probing the alleged custodial death and disappearance of 25-year-old Gade Sai Krishna is encountering resistance. Suspended Krishnalanka circle inspector SSVV Nagaraju has reportedly failed to cooperate with investigators, despite extensive questioning over three consecutive days. The SIT confronted Nagaraju with evidence, including suspected blood stains found in the Krishnalanka police station's interrogation room and the subsequent repainting of the space. Nagaraju allegedly denied ordering the repainting or knowing why it occurred, even when presented with a constable's statement suggesting he did.
Investigators also questioned Nagaraju regarding allegations that Sai Krishna was brought from Markapuram and handed over at Krishnalanka police station before his alleged death in custody. Nagaraju reportedly claimed ignorance of Sai Krishna's arrival, stating he would have been handed over to sentry staff. Furthermore, he denied knowledge of an injection allegedly administered to Sai Krishna by a local RMP practitioner, suggesting the constable who summoned the practitioner be questioned instead.
Despite being presented with witness statements and forensic findings, Nagaraju has allegedly evaded direct answers, frequently stating he had no knowledge of the incidents or that they were unrelated to him. The SIT finds his responses inconsistent with the evidence gathered thus far. The investigation continues into the circumstances surrounding Sai Krishna's death.
