An unidentified cybercriminal has allegedly gained unauthorized access to cricketer Rinku Singh's Facebook account. The accused reportedly diverted money earned from the account's monetization. Consequently, a case has been registered at the Cyber Police Station in Aligarh.
As part of the investigation, data records have been requested from Facebook and Meta. Police teams have been formed to track the involved individuals and initiate recovery of the misappropriated funds. The account, boasting approximately 1.6 million followers, has been subject to unauthorized operation, with unusual photos and videos being uploaded automatically.
Rinku Singh, due to his demanding cricket schedule, had not actively managed his Facebook account recently. Issues with password access arose when he attempted to log in. Login activity from email addresses other than his own further alerted him to the breach.
