- A man faces charges including causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving.
- The accused allegedly attempted to set fire to his van post-collision.

A man appeared in court charged in connection with a road traffic collision that resulted in an eight-year-old girl and her father sustaining severe lower limb injuries, leading to partial amputations. The accused, Brannon Mullan, 36, faces charges including causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice. He is also accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and having an incorrect registration mark.
Police officers responded to the collision on Edergoole Road, Omagh, on July 25, finding the father and child with serious injuries. Both have since undergone amputations: the man below his ankle and the child below her knee. Prosecutors objected to bail, citing the accused's alleged attempt to set fire to his van immediately after the crash.
District Judge Alana McSorley acknowledged the "serious, life-changing injuries" of the child and father. Mullan was remanded in custody, with his next appearance scheduled for August 18 at Omagh Magistrates Court via video-link.
