Summary

- The victim was killed over a dispute concerning a jointly purchased plot.
- Her body was dismembered and dumped in a water body.

A property dispute has led to a gruesome murder in Abdullapurmet, where a man is accused of killing his cousin. The victim, a 42-year-old woman who owned a grocery store, was reported missing by the accused, Pappuram Kumavath, on March 8. However, inconsistencies in his statements led police to suspect foul play.
Further investigation revealed that the murder stemmed from a dispute over a 120 sq yd plot purchased by the victim and Pappuram. The property was registered solely in Pappuram's name, and the victim had recently insisted on being added as a joint owner. Angered by this, Pappuram allegedly killed her on February 28.
Pappuram then enlisted the help of two associates, Rakesh and Sunil, to dispose of the body. They transported the dismembered remains, sawed using a chainsaw, to Pedda Cheruvu's water outlet in Masjidpur village, intending to wash them away. The decomposed body parts were recovered on Tuesday, leading to the arrests of the three individuals on Wednesday.
